Instruction Leadership

Instruction is led by Linnie, who brings 12 years of classroom teaching experience and deep training in foundational literacy instruction.

While Rooted operates within a homeschool model, the instructional practices used during program days come from proven classroom experience guiding children through early reading development and hands‑on science exploration.

Curriculum Approach

Rooted is not tied to a single curriculum. Instead, we focus on the developmental milestones children should reach, especially in reading and foundational science. This approach allows Rooted to complement many of the curricula families already use at home.

During program days, we draw from several well‑regarded curriculum resources and instructional practices to strengthen core skills while reinforcing what families are already teaching.

Our priority is helping students grow into strong readers, curious thinkers, and practical learners, rather than centering instruction around a single boxed program.

Progress & Milestones

We track student progress through a small set of clear developmental checkpoints, primarily focused on foundational literacy and comprehension.

Parents can expect to see progress in areas such as:

• Reading age‑appropriate passages with increasing fluency
• Explaining what they understood from a story
• Asking questions and making observations during science activities
• Applying reading and thinking skills during farm‑based projects

The goal is mastery and confidence, not rushing through material.

Our Family Participates

Our own children participate in Rooted and receive their reading and science instruction during these program days.

Rooted was built first for our own family. We are creating the environment we want for our children and inviting families who value the same approach to participate.

Curriculum at Home

Rooted is a homeschool partnership, which means parents remain the primary educators.

Families may choose the curriculum that best fits their child at home. Rooted supports that work by reinforcing reading development, scientific curiosity, and practical learning through farm experiences.
